May day 2004 saw the coming together of a changing-line up of practitioners, resulting in a series of quarterly forays into the undergrowth of interdisciplinary arts practice.

SpRoUt's conception was in this field of enquiry - the seed was sown at Arcola Theatre, Dalston a former East End sweat shop. SpRoUt re-possesed the black box studios, bar and passageways, temporarily interrupting the audience-viewer relationship.
