Everyday Whites (under 6 euros per bottle)

Crisp and fresh Sauvignons, smooth and rounded Chardonnays, peachy Viognier, a fruity and 'très gluggé' Colombard, scintillating Sauvignon and Semillon blends, and a brimful of bucolic Terret grapes in the 'Orangerie Blanc' ... a vinous rainbow to captivate the palate.

Muscadet 2006 (Drouet) 1.95
Madame Defarge’s favourite apéritif before a soirée of guillotine gloating!
Somewhat lean and sharp, ‘mais parfait avec les moules!’

Sauvignon de la Loire 2006 (Drouet) 2.95
This is not cheapie acid rain Sauvignon, the duodenal ulcer stabbing style one drinks in the Calais bars and even restaurants – this is a refreshing and inspiring shower of pure citric fruit energy…Gene Kelly style! So fling the umbrellas away and palate zing and tootsie tingle down Broadway!
Chardonnay de Château Pennautier 20073.95
Edith Piaf's favourite gargle after a rendition of 'Je ne regrette rien!' Lots of smooth and honeyed flavours. We've compared this wine with a few white Macons and it really does represent superb value for Chardonnay lovers.
Touraine Sauvignon 'Les Barbottes' 2007 3.95
Extrovert and up-front Sauvignon at its sabre swishing best! New Zealand Sauvignons totally neutered!
Château Bordeneuve Entre-Deux-Mers 2007 4.75
Jean Carnelos always produces an exquisite and artistic balance of rounded fruit and tangy freshness. Very appealing!
Côteaux-du-Giennois 2005 (Joseph Balland-Chapuis)  5.95
Stunning Sancerre alternative at a scintillating snip!
Macon-Villages ‘Terres Secrètes’ 2006’ (Gold medal, Concours Agricole Paris) 5.95
Golden-hued and honey coated with a ravishing bouquet of pineapples and melons. This isn’t superb – it’s absolutely celestial!
