The
practice was established by my father Charles Steer, when he left
a group practice in Kingston in 1959. The practice at that time
was exclusively a private practice, bit since 1993 a small NHS
list has been established.
I aim to provide a broad range of good quality primary care both
in the NHS and private sector.
We aim to run a personal and readily available service, to which
end we have not set aside times for specific clinics, as we believe
that it is more convenient that all services are available during
normal surgeries.
Mrs
Bee Hooper RGN our nurse, works here on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
She is available for cervical smears and contraceptive advice and
checks. She also runs asthma, cardiovascular and diabetic monitoring clinics.
New
Patients - may register by direct application to the
surgery.
We
ask that all new patients make an appointment
for a healthcheck with either the nurse or one of the doctors.
Disabled
access - The surgery is on the ground floor and can be
accessed by the smaller wheelchair, though help will be needed
to get over the step (There is no disabled toilet)
Services Available:
-
General medical consultation
-
Contraceptive
and maternity services
-
Childhood
and travel immunizations
-
Nurse-led
cervical screening
-
Chronic
disease management
-
Joint
and soft tissue injections
Repeat prescriptions - should be requested by
use of the tear-off repeat side of the prescription or in writing
and may be collected after 11:30am. If you want
it posted please enclose a SEA.
Patients taking long-term medication should be reviewed at least
annually and more often for conditions such as high blood pressure
and diabetes.
Patients comment or complaints
All suggestions are welcomed. If you have had any difficulties
or are in any way unhappy with the service we offer, I hope you
will feel sufficiently at your ease to be able to bring it to
our attention directly. Any suggestion or complaint may be addressed
either in person or writing to Dr Steer who will
do his best to offer a full and speedy explanation and, we hope,
resolution to any problem.
If you feel unable to raise the matter with us directly or are
unhappy with our response, then you may contact the staff at Kingston
Primary Care Trust Hollyfield Rd, Surbiton. KT5 9AL.
|
 |
All
consultations are made by appointment and we would ask that, if
possible, you give the receptionist some indication of the matter
in hand so that she can allocate a suitable appointment. We will
see emergencies and urgent cases at the earliest opportunity and
always within a day of the request.
Requests
for home visits should be made by 10:30am
